Will Smith as Nick Fury in S.H.I.E.L.D movie?

As you know, Nick Fury is part of the Marvel/Paramount Pictures slate
where Marvel will produce films for Paramount to distribute. Although a
writer or director has yet to be officially named, that doesn't mean
Marvel isn't grinding ahead with Fury's development. The Fresh Prince
is apparently being considered for the role.
Although Ultimate Nick Fury is black and very, very bad ass looking, I
am partial to the Nick Fury you see above because this is the Nick Fury
I recall from my comic book days in the 80s. This the Nick Fury
created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

There was some rumor of my man, Sam Jackson, taking the role or
Nick. I think that it is sacreligious (like Micheal Clark Duncan
playing as the King Pin in Dare Devil) but Sam would add a lot to the
Nick Fury the character. He would put the FURY in Nick Fury,
IMO.

David Hasselhoff played Nick Fury in the forgotten Nick Fury: Agent of Sheild
(1998) I wonder if this was attempt to destroy the character as was the
case with casting “character destroyer” Dolph Lundgren to play Punisher
and He-Man.

Will Smith is still HOT!!!
I liked Will Smith in Hitch, Bad Boys (1,2), Men in Black, and even I, Robot. He is a good actor. But seeing him as Nick Fury… I just don't know. I've always seen Nick Fury as a crusty old, Viet Nam Vet not as a guy who could gracy the cover of GQ magazine.
